New York's First Passive House Schools
489 State Street includes two new schools currently under construction, a new elementary school and a new home for the Khalil Gibran International Academy which are planning to open in Fall 2024. 489 State Street will be New York's first passive house schools and are part of first phase of construction of The Alloy Block. The design of the schools have been led by Architecture Research Office as design architect and Ishmael Leyva as architect of record.
